LOST IN THE SYSTEM
Special Education, a system so convoluted there are times when I didn’t know where to turn for help or how to navigate through the vicious mess. From complicated laws to administrative power plays, it can be an incredibly oppressive situation for parents attempting to fight for special education services for their child.
I have been advocating for my son Max who is deaf for almost eleven years and there still isn’t a time when I don’t feel lost in the system. These feelings inspired me to write Lost in the System, a book detailing my quest for reading services for my son and the ugly truths that revealed themselves about the people in which we entrust our children’s education.
